Breeze-Up Consignment 

 

We prepare horses for all Breeze up sales including Tattersalls, Doncaster, Ascot, Arqana and Goresbridge. Dolmen only offers a consigning service for Breeze up sales, at present we outsource all other consigning to vendors who specialize in that particular area.

The breeze-up prep starts as soon as you buy or receive yearlings from the sales, once they arrive back to the farm they commence the breaking-in stage. Each horse has its own personality and with that you must treat them as the individuals they are. Most yearlings adapt quiet well to the new addition of a rider and once this stage is complete we decide what gets a break and turn out to grass for a number of weeks. Some stay housed during this period, you'll  find some horses improve better from remaining inside along with some light daily exercise ,also the more difficult yearlings to break will be brought along at a slower rate to suit. The period from the yearlings to Christmas is crucial as it's an opportunity to encourage a good appetite which will stand to you as the season progresses.

With Christmas behind us January see's the sales companies acting agents calling by for inspection, for most you already know what sale to target with each horse but some horses develop and mature a little different so its best to have all options if needed.
